My fiancee has her interview 24 April and I had read that it is cheaper to rent an apartment than stay at a hotel in Moscow. I would like her to stay there until she gets her visa then she can leave from there. We have been looking but cannot find. Can anybody give us any information about it. We would be very grateful.

Thanks

Charles

There's a ton of apartments you can rent in Moscow through the internet. An apartment is much better than a hotel. Here's one link: http://www.gotorussia.com/hotels_and_apart...s_in_moscow.htm. But you can just Google "apartments for rent moscow russia" and there will be a ton of sights you can go to. Hope that helps ya out!

I can't believe you can't find anything as there are boatloads... I am sure many people will give you different sources... you will have many to choose from.

Another place that a lot of people go for apartments is Moscow Ricks' You can google him and he will come up.'

If you have any problems I have a friend who rents out an apartment in Moscow. I have used it two times and will be using it again if they ever decide to give us an interview and let us out of A/R. It is $ 95.00 a night, fairly nice, close to two metro staions, on the same side of moscow as the embassy and close to shopping and restaurants.

Local Russians who don't want to pay American tourist prices will look at newspaper classifieds and the online version at:

When my wife went there, she stayed with Olesya "Russian Girl Friday" Pomazan, for about $30/night. This woman has a flat in Moscow and can arrange transportation to/from the airport or train station and the interview, med check, etc.

The transportation is costly, so it's better for the fiancee to just do her own (on the Metro or bus) if she can. My wife got transported from the airport to the flat for $45 or something like that, then on the way back, took the bus and Metro for like $2.50. She said "better I use this money for something I want." I guess so!

I was happy for her to stay with another woman, especially a Muscovite that's familiar with the American interview process and foreign-bride assistance. She was very good at following up and e-mailing me with responses to any questions or concerns I or my wife had. I would highly recommend giving her a call or sending her an e-mail. If your wife is going to Moscow from somewhere else (a small town or something far away) She can probably stay with Olesya and get all her business done too for under $250.

Olesya's site is: http://www.russiangirlfriday.com
