Hey guys just a quick question I will try write it so everyone understands

Okay I'm almost ready to renew my green card that's in April I'm just waiting for the letter to go ahead and file the forms

The problem is that my drivers licence and my green card will be put of date for a few months while processing

I have a family holiday booked to Florida in may of this year that's only a month after expiration

Can I travel using my British passport that's still valid during that time

We should be getting out letter any day to renew so please help I don't want to miss out on this as its a supreme for my wife

hi

you don't need a letter to tell you when to file, you can file 90 days before your GC expires

the sooner you file, the sooner you will get the extension letter for a year

File when you get inside the 90 day window before expiration. Your receipt (NOA1) will say your greencard is extended for one year. Take the expired greencard and the NOA1 letter as your proof that you are still a legal greencard holder for the next year.

Cheers guys just worrying I won't be able to travel

If you are traveling within the US you should be fine with just your passport. There is always a possibility you may meet up with a USCIS checkpoint, but that is rare. Keep your other documents with you just in case, but I wouldn't worry too much.
