It's better in Colorado than elsewhere.  Honestly the speed limits are so high here that someplace that takes you 10 minutes to drive, after stopping at 3 lights, will take you 45 mins to walk.  Literally it takes me about 40 mins to walk to work when it takes me 8 mins to drive.

In Oklahoma City the only places you see sidewalks are rich, new neighborhoods and downtown.  There aren't any else where and there's a McDonalds every 2 blocks.  I'm not kidding!  My friend who lived in Virginia and Georgia after living in California, says that she doesn't recall many sidewalks in either of those places.  Since she was on a reservation in Cali, it's not indicative of what it's normally available.

Are you guys going to be living in the springs or up closer to Denver?  There's more recycling up here than down there since the Springs really is just military based.

We are going to be living in The Springs. My fiance has a good job there right now. I quite like The Springs. We live close to the major road so there is a city bus and I took it a few times when visiting. I find The Springs very friendly. I sure hope we get our NOA2 soon. This wait is killer. LOL

Hubs would rather be down there too (less people) but his job is up here.  Cheaper down there too!

Recycling is a thing many people dont do down here.  Im constantly fishing recyclable items out of the trash.   My mom was supposed to bring me reusable bags since mine seem be missing.  Target will give you 5 cents for using a reusable bag but I find that charging peoole, like they do in Canada is more effective for change.

Yup.  My apartment complex has no recycling and I actually have no idea where I would even take recyclables.  I have so many plastic bags I end up throwing them out.

The funny thing is, I used to live in El Mirage back in 2008 and each house had a large recycling bin. I think we had to pay for it, and it was likely one of the few cities that offered that. But here in CT, they give us these tiny little recycling boxes that you can barely fit anything in. You really have to flatten down any boxes and cram them in. Recycling picks up every week, I just can't imagine why they wouldn't give out larger bins.

We have huge recycle bins here. It's bigger then my garbage bins. I called them up and asked for another. They didn't even charge me for it. We are a family of 8 and needed the second one.

reusable bags are all over here too. I'm pretty sure this stuff is more of a City to City thing even within each state it would vary.
