hi @walran,

actually, since nvc opens up at 7am, what i did was start calling like at 656am and kept redialing until i got in, put the phone on speaker on for the 20 minutes or so until i got the first recorded query asking me what i wanted to do, then pressed the correct button and waited the 20 minutes or so until a human answered.

on days when i couldn't wake up and function enough to do the above, and it was past 7, i just called it a wash for the day and tried again the next morning. i got in exactly when i wanted and got the info i needed--didn't have to spend days on the phone. all told, it was about a 40-45 minute wait when i called first thing in the morning.

gethuman is a great website for finding the real numbers where you can talk to a person, but i didn't know they offered pop-up, "concierge" services--at least they didn't in fall 2015 when i used it. i really hope it's legit, because, frankly--the whole coincidence of them suddenly popping up on vj sounds *highly* suspect, in my humble opinion.

i'm hoping everything works out okay for you both.

Actually there is a site that will handle these types of calls and waiting for you. Doing some research others here have said that it works very well.. And what could anyone do with an I797 or my name and DOB anyways? As for just a few minutes.. from what I have read people have spent days trying to get through to them.. $50 would be worth it to me rather than hours on hold or as it has been for me today not being able to even get through..

http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-skip-through-corporate-phone-trees-with-gethuman/

One person on here said it was a lifesaver on a 2012 post..

I noticed here as well in this older posting... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/454900-nvc-contact-number/

December 31, 2014/6pm: paid & checked in I-129F at FedEx/Kinko's; they said it should reach TSC by 2Jan15
June 26, 2015/9pm: received text/email that I-129F was approved--took 5 months/2 weeks/3 days

7Jan15: received notification via email and text of receipt at TSC
9Jan15: date of receipt on official NOA1 I-797 form that was mailed back from TSC
26Jun15/9pm: received text/email that I-129F was approved--took 5 months/2 weeks/3 days
3Jul15: received official NOA2 approval letter that said it was sent to NVC on 2Jul15

10Jul15: NVC received, created case number, and put into their system (at least that's what i was told on 17Jul15)
called NVC on July 17, 24 and will call Aug 7--STILL IN Administrative Processing
4Aug15 - checked CEAC site; finally "In Transit" (!!!)
7Aug15 - CEAC site says "Ready at Embassy (BGN)"
7Aug15 - 1st phone contact with BGN, was told everything is by email now, no phone calls are conducted :sleepy:
10Aug15 - 1st email contact with BGN--several auto responses, the American Consulate Service email address is the only one to reply after i sent screenshot of CEAC "Ready" page, saying they haven't received anything from NVC but that they sent Packet 3

11Aug15 - 2nd email contact with BGN--BridgetownACS replies the next day, ADMITTING that they sent Packet 3 via r-e-g-u-l-a-r INTERNATIONAL snail mail--not DHL--and attaches .pdf of Packet 3 :ranting:

12Aug15 - 3rd email contact with BGN
13Aug15 - BGN won't respond to 12Aug15 email; resent email asking for help with my 3 questions on how to proceed since they don't/won't answer questions via phone; signed Visa Interview Request letter DHLed to BGN
14Aug15 BGN received DHL visa interview request letter at 3pm...radio silence
4am 17aug15 - emailed embassy with .pdf proof of 14aug15 BGN receipt of signed interview request letter and made request for an interview date and time
9am 17aug15 - embassy emailed back with .pdf of packet 4 AND letter granting interview date and time! :wow:
official papers STILL on their way via INTERNATIONAL SNAIL MAIL though...
4sep15 BGN confirms, via email, that the .pdf versions of Packet 3 & 4 they sent will be viable for use at the BGN interview and medicals
7-11sep15 - paper packet 4 arrived in DOM via international snail mail from BGN **AFTER** TS Erika came through (paper packet 3 is probably lost in the ether somewhere, lol)
22sep15 - interview AND APPROVAL at BGN!
5OCT15 - VISA IN PASSPORT & IN HAND VIA DHL!!!!

ya, seems the pop up is a thingie any website owner can enable. then there's the revenue stream sharing..

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

You must be more busy then the president of United States.

Time equals money...:)

I have more than 140 employees and several companies in addition to lots of real estate projects going on. I teach in my spare time investments at the community college and university here as well as running a charity and traveling for those projects, I exercise, work with boys as scout master in my area, and teach Sunday school at church on Sundays and so yes I am busy..

But I was busy when I was a UPS driver years ago and I would have been too busy working 12 hours a day there and unable to wait on the phone for hours..

Over the years I have learned that it is wise to get someone to do anything that they can do cheaper than your hourly rate i.e. if you make $50 an hour it is worth paying someone to change the oil at $30 an hour or mow the lawn at $20 supposing you can use that time profitably.. In the end it is a choice and I rarely tell people how they should choose or live their lives..

I called them at 10 am Central time today and waited on hold for 3 minutes (yes three), in fact I have called them maybe 20 times and never waited more then 45 minutes on hold. Always choose option 7, it seems to be the fastest and do not be afraid to call.

Edit: FYI if that service you pay to call for you says the wrong thing to the operator it could cause you to be put on supervisor review, I would think a few minutes on hold is worth more then a 42 day delay in your case, just my opinion

Thank you I do too! I am not a nervous Nellie but hope that nothing untoward would happen. I just got a message saying that "ed" from Get human would call later tonight as right not is peak calling time for the NVC. Hoping this is something that works well enough to share here.. If not.. Lesson learned :)

What number are you calling? I called the 603-334-0700 & 0800 today and was either cut off after the message or couldn't get through.

Legitimate or not, you really paid $9 for someone to make a phone call for you?

The nice thing about NVC is they take calls from 7:30am to 12:00am EST. That's a pretty impressive window. I understand you and/or your significant other may have busy lives but that's almost 17 hours? Surely one can fit a call in at some point?

My longest on-hold time with the NVC was 20 minutes. I called closer to the end of the day. Make yourself some dinner, dial the number, set your phone on speaker and sit down and have a nice meal and relax while on hold if you have to. That's what I did.

I wonder if I am dialing the correct number? I have tried more than 10X today... Either it is busy or it hangs up after their message in English and Spanish..

Im like you in the respect that I would also rather pay someone to do something cheaper then I would value my time, but no one is more important then my wife, and I am not going to trust a service to call the very orginization that can deny her entry to the Usa, for me

I've called them maybe 12 times over the past 3 years, and usually do it either late in their day or first thing in the morning when they open, and never waited more than 10 minutes when I got connected, and never had to try more than 4-5 times for each call.

There's a little button on your phone that will redial. LOL!

It makes me nervous even giving all my personal data and bank account numbers, credit card statements, etc. to USCIS; I'd never ever pay someone to do this stuff for me. Ever.
