Asking about RFE for my Green Card?

Hello to all,

Good day!

I am here again and wanted to ask about my RFE for my green card (Adjustment of Status).

I submitted all the documents needed for my AOS.

But unfortunately I received an RFE last December 2015. (They requested more evidences to prove that marriage is genuine, like deeds, insurances, photos,

etc...

I am still processing and completing the documents they requested and NOT YET sending those documents

BUT last week (2nd week of January 2016) I received my green card. I was so much happy

And just wonder if I still need to send those documents they needed.

I want to inquire to the immigration office on what to do but don't know how to contact them.

I hope you can help me.

What is the date of the RFE and the issue date of your green card?

RFE dated December 1st week, 2015

My status online - January 2nd week, 2016 Card was delivered to me by the post office.

Was your green card issued after you received the RFE -- check the issue date of your green card?

Yes my card issued after my RFE...

RFE dated December 2, 2015

and green card - resident start -January 4

Hmm, they may just have been satisfied with the evidence you had provided which is why they issued you the green card.

If you call USCIS, they won't be able to tell you much unless you talk to a supervisor. Their number is 800-375-5283.

Sounds like really confusing situation. I guess if they issued your GC they changed their mind about RFE (never heard of that), but if you want to play safe, I would go to Infopass, explain them situation and ask to look it up if you're all set and can dismiss RFE letter.

I suggest the RFE was probably a mistake cos its weird to be asking these sort of documents for an adjustment of status. If it was removal of condition that will be fine but not Adjustment of status. Anyway its best to contact them to be SOLIDLY sure !. Goodluck

Well we just got notified that they ordered her Permeant Residence Card which usually means 10 working days later we should have it in the mail. Thanks. What is the difference of removal of conditions and AOS?

Adjustment of status is the first application for green card after entry with K-1 visa, normally you are given 2 years Green card if your marriage is less than two years old and removal of condition is filing to extend the expiration of your first two years Green Card to get a 10 years permanent status.

We got the EAD card the other day and our Permanent Resident card was sent today so no interview. Thank you all for your comments and inputs. Hope everybody is going more smoothly now it seems like it is.
