Hello all...

so today my status on CEAC went from in transit to ready and says i can book an interview, now i know i have to wait for montreal to log it and to get p3, but i cant seem to find a way to contact them and ask if p3 has been sent, all the numbers i keep finding are out of date and dont connect to anyone ..

Has anyone been dealing with Montreal lately that can help me out or has any experience with them lately, like processing times and interview waits ?

Thank you :)

You email Montreal (Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov) and inquire about if they have processed your case (include you MTL case number in the subject of the message)

They send an automatic email back right away and it took about 1-2 days for them to get back to my email (they seem to send out emails around 10am EST)

Have a peek at my timeline in my signature about timelines. I think I waited two weeks after CEAC had ready status before I got my Packet 3.

Also check your CEAC status and take note of the dates, usually the date will update once MTL logs your case (Status remains READY)

Interview times: When I booked in mid December the earliest interview was about 2 months away. However there seems to be less people at this stage at the moment (I figure most people wanted to get things done before the holidays) So you may get an earlier interview date.

Good luck!!

They only use email contact now. Here: Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov or You can use the public inquiry form, but give it at least 5-7 days from the date that it changed from In Transit to READY. It's marked as READY once they receive it, but they don't log it the same day that they receive it. If it's not logged, it won't show in their system yet.

http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact/public-inquiry-form.html

Ours was marked as READY July 7th, but wasn't logged until July 16th. We received the hard copy packet on July 28th I believe, but we had already sent packet 3 and done packet 4 by then lol.

you may get a faster response from the public inquiry form though. I usually did.

Incase you don't have it, here's packet 3 so you can prepare. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf

Once you know they have your case and have logged it, you can go ahead with packet 3 at any time.

Yeah, we sent P3 when it showed READY but the first P3 was ignored. The next Friday after they had received, the status updated to a new date (the date it was logged), we resent packet 3 and received packet 4 within like 7 hours. Some people just relentlessly send P3's til they take them LOL.

We just received our approval notice by email (NOA2) if I understand right our case now moves to NVC. Once it moves to the NVC will we still track this on the same website or does this move to a different location? Also, so far all communication has gone to my fiance in the US - will all documents continue to be sent to him or will they now be sent to my Canadian address? Thank you!

you can track it at the CEAC website after you get your case number from NVC.. id say start calling this week and just ask nicely if they've received your case, after that you can put that number into the CEAC site and track it on its way to montreal/vancouver ! .. i am in inbetween p3 and p4 and neither me or my american fiance ha recieved any mail, so im not sure which address it is being sent to or if all ! haha

Thank you Ashley! Where did you find the information on packet 3 & 4? I went through the great summary of steps someone made on VJ for Montreal but a lot of the links were old. Also, have you had your medical yet? I read something last night that confused me - I thought I could schedule it once I got my case number from NVC but last night read I needed to have my appointment letter.

From what i've heard, most of the medical places need your appointment confirmation to book the exam, so you have to wait unfortunately.. Montreal has been really good replying to me right away and answering questions so you can always email them an ask !

You will need your P4 and interview confirmation to book/have the interview.

Sorry I just saw this, but I had found them on VJ a good while ago, I'm sure I could refind them if I put in the time LOL.

As for medical and stuff, yes my fiance has already gone through all of that and he got here in the states in November. When he went to schedule his medical, they did ask for his Interview date and time to confirm he actually had an interview.

The appointment letter gives you PERMISSION to do all of the stuff, some people have scheduled their medical without having it, most with no drawback. It just depends on if the medical people are doing their due diligence and confirming the interview appointment.

If you want to do things the right way, either wait for the packet 3 in the mail or confirm that they have your case and have logged it, send packet 3 via email according to the PDF file I gave, wait for the packet 4 email, then schedule your interview, and then your medical.

That's great Ashley! Happy for you!!

NVC confirmed they received our case yesterday but didn't log it yet. I will call again tomorrow, I feel like we are getting close.

Do we need our MTL number to do the DS-160?
