AOS Interview in February, but March marks our 2nd year anniversary. Will I get a conditional GC?

Hi everyone,

I am not sure if you or anyone you know experienced a similar scenario to what I am about to explain but please share any experience and advice.

I just received an interview date for AOS, its on February 16th.

March 27th marks our second anniversary.
My question is if we go to the interview, will I receive a conditional green card or not?

I read that, if all goes well, it takes (at most) 4 weeks to receive a green card after the interview. So that's just a week before our 2nd anniversary.

I would like to avoid the hassle of filing I-751, and also avoid paying the fee for I-751, if there is anything I can do.

I considered postponing the interview date, but after doing some reading on this forum realized that was not a good idea.

Do you have any suggestions?

hey...if i where you i would reschedule interview....becuse even if it take 2 or 3 weeks to get your actual green card in the mail...if they approve you on the spot you will be a RESIDENT as of FEB 13, 2016..... so you would get the 2 yr greencard!! Rescheduleee to avoid the hassell!

This seems like the only way to avoid getting a conditional green card. However, I know that I must appear at USCIS Infopass in person and request the change in writing. Others said that I better give detailed reasons for the emergency and why the emergency situation can't be delayed.

it is also stated that if a valid reason is not provided for rescheduling the application may be denied. I don't think wanting to avoid the hassle of conditional green card is a valid reason for USCIS. This has the potential to ruin my whole application, so it worries me

yea you are right, just take your chancess! maybe at the interview bring that up and ask if they can hold off a approval until after you hit your 2 year mark? Wouldn't hurt to ask!
