Hi everyone

Not sure if this is the best forum/sub-forum - admin please move if not!

I am in the late stages of the K1 process - my interview is on 2nd Feb. I am from the UK. We intend to get married the day after I arrive in the US, which will be asap - hopefully around 10-15th Feb is our best guess we can get from other people's experience. We would file for AOS immediately after, and we live in Virginia.

My fiancé has been offered a job on Saipan, which is under US immigration law: http://goo.gl/4uiuiA. We are seriously considering it.

We would move there about 2 months from now, which would be about a month after we file for AOS. There is a USCIS office on Saipan as far as I am aware, therefore I could get my biometrics and have my interview there. We can arrange for his mother to open mail from the embassy.

I need advice on the following:

- can I file for AOS in VA, then move to Saipan and change my address?

- am I free to move/travel to Saipan without AP (I will file for this and EAD at the same time as AOS but we will move before that happens). I think so but I need to make absolutely sure

- would being on Saipan significantly hinder the AOS/EAD process?

Thanks everyone. This is a bit out of the blue and we need to make a decision by Friday!!!

I guess I would want to know if you will be admitted to enter CNMI with no U.S. documentation. Your K1 visa is invalid once you use it to enter the U.S. You have nothing on paper that says you have any immigrant status in the U.S. between K1 entry and receiving EAD or a greencard. So do they let you in as a British visitor? Will you have to show a return ticket that you are leaving Saipan and returning to the UK, the country of your passport? I have no clue how it works, but just find it an Interesting predicament.

Yes I didn't think about that. Technically I'm not travelling outside of the US, but I'm still getting on a plane and flying to a place where I assume I would have to pass through immigration.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I would find this out?

Hmm I found this:

and this

and this

So looks ok I think. We will also need to fly back to the US in mid-July for our wedding :D and the back to Saipan

Tried calling CBP but apparently their info center is closed...
