I had my interview three weeks ago. The CO said everything looks good and they need to do some background checking and it should take 3 - 4 weeks. Since after the interview the status on the CEAC website is "Ready" and the case update date has changed twice. What does this mean? I mean, if they are working then shouldn't it show "AP" or anything. What does "Ready" really mean?

Hello, I recently experienced the same thing. When the status changes from AP to ready, than it will change to ready again to Issue. All this happened during 1 week. Each time the status changes, that mean it is being looked at. When it changes from immigrant to non-immigrant, the case creation date will change too. Your visa is coming soon.

You really should start your own topic. However, it is normal for your status to go back and forth from ready--AP. Seeing that you're from Pakistan you could have a very length AP wait. Be patient. All you can do is wait. Hope it gets issued soon!

Many threads to read while you wait.

Thanks for the comment. My case creation date has changed today and it has gone from immigrant to non immigrant. Case is still in "Ready" status though. Just wondering what does this mean.

Thanks.

Yes. They kept my passport and gave me nothing except the receipt of fee payment.

They kept your passport! That is a good sign, just be a little more patient and your visa will be issued soon! Good luck.
