Perhaps I'm wrong, but I thought somewhere on the thread it was mentioned not to say anything about it.

Not that I remember and I am sure that would have caused a furore.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Negative?

Truthful might be a better adjective, should we lie?

Whenever people give reality its viewed as negative if the answer isn't what you want to hear. Negative or positive facts are facts.

And as I remember, the OP was in the processing of filing...hadn't completed that as of then. Not sure if they proceeded on or not.

Unfortunately, some people want hope instead of truth.

Whatever happened on your case?  I have something similar going on.  I'm almost to the interview stage so I'll have my answer pretty soon.

I'll also add that I spoke with an attorney and there doesn't seem to be any gray area with a drug conviction for anything other than marijuana.  She did say that if you live in a state that is covered by the 9th circuit court, there is a limited possibility to still get a visa - I think under a ruling they had relating to a first time offender who was under deportation proceedings.
