It does need to be unlocked if its not already. You can try calling AT&T and asking them to unlock it because she is traveling. Verizon did it for me no problem, I'm not sure about AT&T though.

verizon iphones are all unlocked. att iphones are not.

Hello, my wife will be traveling to Vietnam to see her family and while she is there how can she use her AT&T Iphone 6 in Vietnam? Does it need to be unlocked or just another sim card put in?

att iphones need to be unlocked to work in vietnam.

I, personally, have an incredible experience using T-Mobile while traveling internationally. They don't require you to sign a contract so everything is "unlocked." Additionally, since they provided unlimited data and text and $0.20 calls in 140+ countries there is really no need to get another SIM card while abroad. You can if you want to, though, depending on your own personal situation.

04/20/16 - AOS Inteview - Boston, MA - APPROVED!

04/25/16 - Approval notice received in the mail

04/26/16 - Green card mailed
