Importing Car before Visa Approved?

We have submitted our visa application and are now waiting for its review (and any related checklists). Once case complete, we'll head to Montreal for the interview they will schedule.

My question is - my husband owns several vehicles in Canada which are paid off, or technically since we are married now WE own these vehicles. We are saving for the move and we'd love to lower our expenses by selling my car and moving one of his vehicles down since they are all paid for and mine is not. Since we are married, are we allowed to move one of his vehicles down now or do we have to wait until he gets his green card?

You can move his vehicles down if he has moved or when he does move.

They have to be imported and meet inspection (my inspection occurred at the border, some threads state you need specific paperwork, etc). Once they are imported, you will have to pay taxes once they are registered.

One could argue that if you are not on the title- you do not own the vehicles.

The USC can import vehicles whenever they choose to as long as THEY own them.
