My photobook that contained pics of me and my fiancé was sent back, with a letter saying the format was not able to be processed with my file. Does anyone know what this means? It was basically a photobook you get made at cvs, with hardcover binding. Has anyone had their photobook or photo album returned from a k1 petition? Fortunately, I also sent in additional pics on regular paper so hopefully that will satisfy the requirement for evidence of meeting.

Correct, they do not accept big, bulky books with photos or documents. Send photos printed on a sheet with descriptions written below or on the back.

They sent it back because they don't accept anything not on paper. They can't scan or file a hard cover book.

I hope you sent more than just photos as evidence of meeting in person. Photos are secondary evidence, you need primary evidence such as copies of boarding passes, passport stamps, receipts etc.

Your lucky, usually they just throw that stuff out.

I agree, you actually got lucky. If you sent out more relationship information (boarding passes, passport stamps, etc.) then I wouldn't worry about it. Save the book for the interview and take it with you to that phase.

Good Luck!

Never send a photo album. They won't want to lug that big dumb thing around with your case file or bother trying to scan things from it.
