Greetings all,

My Filipina fiancee and I are about to begin our K-1 process and I just wanted to ask a quick question. Perhaps somebody out there might have some insight or experience.

Way back in 2011 I filed a K-1 for an ex-girlfriend (Thai) but that relationship ended shortly after the NOA-1 was received. I don't recall if the NOA-2 was received or not.

Here's where I get a bit worried. I did not send a letter to the USCIS when that relationship ended (life was rather chaotic at that time). I just let the application fall to the way-side as I moved forward with putting my life back together. Additional info: The reason the relationship ended was because the K-1 agency I hired turned up information on my ex that she had not told me about (convictions), which led to the ending of the relationship. Due to those convictions, the agency was unable to move forward with the process.

I did not maintain the records (I'm rather upset with myself about that) from that application either. I have scoured my records extensively to no avail.

Do you think this will have a negative impact on the K-1 process we are about to begin now?

Nah, you're fine. The NOA2 (if she ever got it) expired 4 months after the approval, plus the 2nd k1 visa is well over the 2 year mark.

My only question is if this is your current fiancee's first time to be petitioned. If it's not, the previous petitioner needs to withdraw that petition. If its her first, then you can rest easy :) Good luck!
