I have a question.m

Just wanted to be sure. The marriage cettificate has "VOID" stamps all around the page. Is this a problem? In case of this, should i send the original marriage certificate with AOS package? But this certificate is required in all the forms. And to think that i am aplayiing for myself and my K2 san , we need a lot of copies of this document. And it will cost us more than a hundred $.

I would apriciate your experience

Thank you

Some people have been known to have gotten a RFE for sending in such a document, depending on the adjudicator.

Wow, that price seems inordinately high. We were able to obtain certified copies of our marriage license for $3 each, http://www.kingcounty.gov/~/media/depts/records-licensing/Recorders-office/Documents/CopyRequestForm_MarriageCertificate.ashx?la=en

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Mine had exactly the same, it caused no problem at all, I just showed the original at my interview

Good point. The IO at our AOS interview asked to see the original to compare it to the copy we had previously submitted. It didn't make any difference to us as that we had sent in a certified copy initially.

Thank you for your answer Pitaya and DJ 6372

It is vety kind of you to write your experience .

P.s. One certificate costs 15$ . And if we sent one for each form (I485, I 765, I 131) for both me and my san, it goes to 90$. That is what I ment with "a hundred $".

Sorry, I am not trying to be glib, but this entire immigration process is not for the faint of heart, nor light of wallet. The entire process is a veritable money pit.

BTW, why do you not send copies of the marriage certificate as previously mentioned?

Hey There,

You dont have to attach one certificate per form.

Since we file I485, 765 and 131 together, we only had to attach one copy of the marriage certificate!

As others have previously noted, you do not need to send a copy of your marriage certificate with each application. :guides: In particular, the K1 guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos . It only mentions one (1) copy.

We successfully sent in one (1) certified copy of our marriage certificate for my wife's (K1) AOS/EAD/AP applications, and one (1) photocopy copy of the certified marriage certificate for my stepson's (K2) AOS/EAD/AP applications, and had no issues.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
