We mailed our AOS, AP, & EAD to Chicago. I was checking the status and the cases for my wife and step-daughter are now in the St. Louis Service Center. I did not know there was a St. Louis Service Center. I only thought there were 4 of them. Our AOS interview is supposed to be in the New Orleans Field Office. Can someone tell me what is going on?

We have already received our notice for the biometrics for 3/15. My wife left Wednesday for two weeks. It will be post-posed for one week and maybe two depending on whether her plane is on time on her return. The USCIS local office said we could come any Wednesday after the original appointment date. Does this mean that everything is on hold until the biometrics are completed?

Every petition that I have sent (3) to the Chicago lockbox...ended up at the Missouri Service Center or (NBC).

What is the NBC?

On April 16, 2003, USCIS Director Aguirre approved the transition of the Missouri Service Center (MSC) into the National Benefits Center (NBC). The NBC was established to serve as the hub and conduit for USCIS local field offices by completing all pre-interview processing of Forms generally requiring an interview. This pre-processing includes conducting background security checks, performing initial evidence reviews, adjudication of associated I-765 and I-131 applications (filed with the I-485 or separately), denial of adjustment of status cases for applicants who are statutorily ineligible, and forwarding scheduled cases to the USCIS local office for adjudication. She went to see her sister here within the US. Yes, we know about AP. Bad timing for the biometrics. By delaying the biometrics, will this hold up all processing?

There isn't. The NBC, formerly known as the Missouri Service Center, is in Lees Summit.

Of course it did - the Chicago Lockbox is a part of the Nastional Benefits Center (formerly and only briefly called the Missouri Service Center). It's their incoming mailroom for new submittals.
