So here we are just a few days away from the interview which will be on 1/19 at AIT in Taipei, Taiwan.

On the 13th my husband got an email with a checklist from AIT of what he should bring. It looks like they listed all of the documents that may be necessary and highlighted the ones that are related to our case. Both "Taiwan Police Certificate (if over age 16)" and "Foreign Police Certificate (if over age 16 with stays of 12 months or longer)" are highlighted.

I'm wondering if it's necessary for us to bring a foreign police certificate. First, there isn't enough time for us to get one. Second, I was under the impression that it's not necessary for our case since he only foreign country he lived in was the U.S. and it was only for 10 months.

Is it possible that they didn't check the dates that he was living in the U.S. and just asked us to bring one anyway?

For the NVC stage I believe it was not necessary to provide a foreign police certificate if the foreign country was the U.S.

Taken from the travel.state.gov website: "Note: Present and former residents of the United States do NOT need to submit any U.S. police certificates."

Thanks for any help!
