Hi i just want to share my medical experience at St. Lukes yesterday and today.

I arrived 4:30 am at SLEC, there's a people outside and there's a separate line who will undergo sputum test. So i go to US line and I'm number 23. At 5 am the guard start to collect docs and allowed to enter inside the clinic. Then I'm in at around 5:30. The man infront start to call number 1-5, 6-10 and so on. Then a short interview, biometrics and picture in the us reception counter at ground floor. Then after my short interview he instruct me go to 5th floor to pay fee.

After i paid, the cashier told me to go on 4th floor for my blood test. It sucks cause i only have short veins. After i proceed to 3rd floor for my chest xray. Then to 2nd floor for my immunization interview.

Then i went back to 5th floor for my physical exam, vital signs. The doctors, nurse and staff are all good there. After my physical exam, the doctor told me to go us counter for checkout. Then the woman there told me to go back 9am the next day. This is i start to get nervous.

I'm home by 11 am on Day 1.

Day 2

I gave my receipt to the guard and stamp "Laboratory 4th floor". I'm really really nervous that time cause some person are for "Immunization" so i know that there's something wrong to me or to my medical. I went to 4th floor then gave my receipt to the reception area. I sat down and start to pray. Then she called us, were 3 one girl and 1 boy plus me. I saw our papers "for sputum" so i start to breakdown there. We will undergo sputum starting next week. It didn't sink in on me since I don't have any history. We went down and gave to guard our stamp and he told us to go back on the said date around 5am. The girl didn't discuss anything about our xray. And i have my previous chest xray that is cleared. I called my fiancé right after i got the bad news. I start to cry outside clinic cause of the result. He is also sad but he still cheer me up that everything will be fine. I went home by 10am and i told to my parents they're sad but still they said its okay.

But honestly I don't know why do we need to undergo this test. I don't have any idea about sputum. Hopefully members here enlighten me about it or who also undergo sputum before. I was really depressed and disappointed to myself now.

I cancelled my interview date for next week cause i need to undergo this test. And hopefully everything is negative!

I keep praying hard cause i know this is only a test to me and to our relationship. In Gods perfect time, me and my partner will be together again ?

I've been in ur situation months ago.. I don't have tb history and my previous xray are good not until i took my medical for k1. My xray has this cloudless thing so I need to go to some test. I passed the sputum test and culture test but when I got here (U.s) the social health worker asked me if SLEC took a skin test (sadly not) my skin test here turned positive ? and I was told that I have an inactive Tb so I have to go to medication. I felt bad and cried the whole day but good thing is I'm with my husband now and we will get through this together ( his words..lucky me?). Just letting you know that your not the only one with that kind of situation..hang in there coz it will be over soon.

Latest update from my wife that had the medical exam a couple days ago. She went to SLEC at 4 am to get a priority number and they gave her #10.
She was able to sit inside and wait until the desks are open around 630am. The first part of the medical took about 3hrs and then she was given two options,

either to return at 1:30pm for the result on the same day and do the immunizations or come back the following day. She opted for the same day and finished around

3:30pm. In conclusion, the entire process could have been done in just ONE day !

ohh im so sorry to hear that. as far as i know your sputum will go through some test.. first three days its called gram staining.. where in they will know right away if you have the disease.. and you can already start the medication after.. why it will take for 2 mos because they will do the culture test.. and it takes two mos for that.. if you will not receive a call during that two mos.. that would mean the result is negative..  i hope the best for you.. update us on your medical

God bless

Kristine
