So my husband has his interview this month, I have been self employed for the last several years. In order to make enough income without needing a co-sponsor (don't have anyone willing ) - I got a job in addition to my business. This has all been run through my lawyer. So with my annual salary with the new employer and my continued business income from my 2014 return that was submitted I make enough to bring him here. NVC received my 2014 return, a letter from employer and a few stubs.

So my question now is that I really need for financial reasons to file my 2015 return asap, when he interviews, can the embassy ask (or tell for that fact) that I already filed for 2015 (since tax season has just begun?) My concern is the new return will only reflect a few months of the new additional income, not the whole year - making it seem at a glance that i don't make enough when i really do.

I took medical leave so i don't have stubs for the past three weeks (but sent all my originals up to then- a total of about 4 months - with my husband), hoping they will not ask for anything - just wondering if anyone has experience if your most recent return does not reflect your income but you sent evidence of new additional income to NVC - did the embassy ask for any further documentation?

thanks
