No one knows, as far as I can tell, but it doesn't interfere with people's approvals/green cards in the experience of the people on this forum.

Conditions Removed! Ten-year green card received 6/24/2009. No more USCIS for a very long time.

Congratulations  I have no idea what ADIT is, seems like it was some sort of reference to photos when I first started getting into this visa thingy but just can't remember.

ADIT Processing = Data Collection for Alien Documentation, Identification and Telecommunication System

Seems to have been something temporary that USCIS did several years ago but forgot to eliminate this from their emails

Nobody knows what ADIT means. Nice of USCIS to use such terminology and not provide an sort of glossary on their website for what these things might mean. Just ignore it, you're getting your GC real soon.

They do have a glossary:

ADIT. Alien Documentation, Identification and Telecommunications card, Form I - 89. Used to collect key data concerning an alien. When processed together with an alien's photographs, fingerprints and signature, this form becomes the source document for generation of Form I - 551, Permanent Resident Card. (Amended effective 1/20/99; 63 FR 70313 )

ADIT, as per the USCIS website:

(B ) ADIT processing --

(1 ) General. To obtain proof of permanent resident status an alien described in paragraph (a) of this section must appear at a legalization or Service office designated for this purpose for preparation of Form I - 551, Permanent Resident Card. Such appearance may be prior to the date of adjustment, but only upon invitation by the Service. Form I - 551 shall be issued subsequent to the date of adjustment. (Amended effective 1/20/99; 63 FR 70313 )

(2 ) Upon appearance at a Service office for preparation of Form I - 551, an alien must present proof of identity, suitable ADIT photographs, and a fingerprint and signature must be obtained from the alien on Form I - 89.

[53 FR 10064, Mar. 29, 1988, as amended at 54 FR 50339, Dec. 6, 1989]

Other things on ADIT from the USCIS website include:

USCIS TO CONTINUE ISSUING “ADIT” STAMPS

Washington, D.C. – Until further notice, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will continue the practice of issuing “ADIT” stamps. An “ADIT” Stamp is added to a passport or an Arrival-Departure Record (I-94) as temporary proof of residence. To alleviate inconvenience to our customers, USCIS continues to aggressively pursue technological improvements to allow the prompt issuing of permanent alien resident cards without the need to issue these temporary stamps.

–USCIS –

Does this ring a bell/make sense with anyone?

Cool. Last time I looked that wasn't there. Well done USCIS.
