02-01-2016 - All MVC numbers showed up on USCIS website!

02-12-2016 - Received my biometric letter for the 24th of February.

02-24-2016 - completed biometric as scheduled in Elizabeth NJ ASC

04-11-2016 - Requested an SR based on the 75 days pending application for EAD/AP

04-11-2016 - Text/Email Advice that EAD/AP card is being produced and to be sent to address on fle.

08-17-2016 - Received Text/Email for interview date scheduled for September 22, 2016

Hi everyone,

We've just finished our interview today. Everything was good. After the officer swore us in, we showed him our passports, driver license, & Social security card. Then he asked my husband the questions in I-485. When did he last enter the U.S? Where and when we first met. When did we start dating and the proposal date. He also asked to see our joint accounts and photos of us. Later he went to photocopy our photos. He came back and told us that he would have to check my husband's security backround and he would approve our case today! We didn't turn in our EAD card and the officer didn't ask for it either. I don't know if this matter. Anyway, the whole process took about 15 minutes. I'm so relieved that everything is done now :)

10/01/2015: Got married!!!

01/04/2016: Sent AOS package (I-130/ I-485/ I-765) to USCIS Chicago Lockbox via USPS

01/06/2016: AOS package was delivered at USCIS Chicago Lockbox

01/13/2016: Received 3 text/email notifications from USCIS

01/14/2016: Check cashed out by USCIS

01/19/2016: Received official NOAs in the mailbox

Congrats to everyone who had interviews! We were told today that we would receive our date in the mail in the next few weeks. Can those that had their interviews please comment on what types of documents they took for their interviews? And did you guys take your 2015 tax returns as well? I know you should take originals of everything that you had sent in earlier like birth certificate and passport, and Ive since then gotten my SS card and Drivers license, but what else did you all take for those that were approved right away.

May I know how did you know you were about to received your interview date? I filed mine in late Jan but still haven't heard anything yet.

tbone1991 - When you call customer service - ask to speak to a tier 2 person - they will let u know if your file says "ready for an interview". Mines been ready since middle of March and after not hearing for several weeks I went in on Monday by making an infopass appt at the local field office where they told me that I should hear something in a few weeks.
It basically depends on when the local field office receives your file. Sometimes the file sits at the national benefits centre even though your case is ready for interview.

I would suggest calling USCIS and getting a status update first from a tier 2 person, and then making an infopass appt at ur local field office to get more information.

My status honestly has not changed. They don't update my case status at all. Don't go by that.

I have a question for you all. The Tier 2 rep today informed me that my case is still at NBC. I am moving in two weeks for my new job to the midwest, which will change my field office for the green card interview. My spouse will remain at our current east coast address for her job until mid-August 2016. So, if the interview takes place by mid-July at the latest, we may be able to get the GC at our current east coast address (which for our GC financial evidence, etc. is our primary residence until mid-August).

Our lawyer has advised against changing address for as long as possible citing USCIS errors related to address change. I have heard horror stories of endless delays for address change at VJ. As far as USCIS not updating my new address is concerned, that will not be an issue since my wife will remain in the previous address until mid-August.

My questions are:

1. Now that our case is still at NBC, is now a good time to change address? That way our AOS file will only need to be sent to the new field office from NBC, and not have to go through the NBC to the current field office, and then re-directed to the new field office.

2. The current USCIS field office is Boston, and if we change the address, the new field office will be Chicago. Do you think this may move up the interview queue for us?

To those that got their drivers license after getting their Social Security Card - how long did it take for it to come in the mail after you applied?
The lady told me 10 days, and its been 10 days and I haven't received it yet...
