Hello Everyone,

I got my Visa in hand today and am starting to make plans to cross the boarder Montreal Vermont boarder crossing.

My fiancé USC has been staying with me in Canada since he got out of the military in December and will be crossing with me.

We are going to be in separate cars just wondering if there is something I should say should I go through the gate first and mention the car

behind me is my USC fiancé ?

Also I am importing my Car and my Dog is there any extra paperwork I will need

I have rabies certificate for my dog

and import paper for my car along with Vin number it is also a certified car for air pollution and so on that is allowed in the US

am I missing anything else has anyone been in this position?

Thank You !!

Hold onto your hat its going to be a bumpy ride!!

but don't worry you'll get through it :luv:

I didn't travel with my fiancé through the boarder but I handed them "the envelope" and they asked me to park and come inside.

They went through my documents and inspected my car. I needed the paperwork from the import to register my car in the US. You will also pay taxes on the vehicle when you register it( just another cost).

I don't think it matters nor will they care if your fiancé is behind you. You can mention it sure...

Your fiancé should go first. He's technically supposed to be inside the USA when you enter

If this is true why do people cross with their USC's all the time or their USC's go get them in their home country and cross ?!

My parents are driving my moving truck over a week later do they need any paperwork so the boarder doesn't give them a hard time. I won't be with them obviously since I can't go back until I get AP

Thanks!! I was going to get a moving company as I have a house to move (although many goodies will be going to cousins and good friends) but the cost is ridiculous. Did you have any problems with customs...

Uhaul and Ryder have many different sized vehicles but they seem to be the only ones that will cross the border so far people said I only need to include a signed list of things in the truck along with I-94 and K1 passport copy. This is if your travelling separately from the truck discount however wouldn't let you cross the border with the truck at all.

Thanks...I will look them up. Did they charge you tax on your things? What about the car, I read somewhere that you can get the dealership to give you a form stating that your car is ok if it passes emission tests...

My car has an EPA sticker so apperently I don't have to pay tax. I'm crossing the boarder on the 22nd so I'm not completely sure yet but so far what I have googled things look good I re post when I past ! As long as your stuff is all yours and not like newly bought and you don't plan on selling it to US citizens you don't have to pay tax.

Hold onto your hat its going to be a bumpy ride!!
