I need help please. We applied for i-130 since April 2015 and only got NOA1.we called uscis several times and they keep saying is pending and that we'll be notified if any changes or update is made.what can we do please?

Get your Senator involved! On the Senator's website, they usually have a section where you can request their help with dealing with the federal authorities. You need to fill out a release of information form that says they can make an inquiry with USCIS on your behalf.

Edit: We had to do the same with NVC to get our case moving from there.

And you are at California Service Center? WOW. Could be that you are stuck in security checks. Nothing you can do but wait it out.

That's a long time.. Get your senator involved like someone suggested. There are no guarantees but at least you will know that someone is checking on it.

Sorry it's not California but Texas Mesquite. That's what is on the NOA1. My husband lives in Detroit Michigan even though currently in Ghana now.USCIS now said it is sent to his local office and we put in service request but all we got is that the case is pending and they wouldn't tell us why. Thanks to all of you for the reply. Please how do we know which office they sent it to in Detroit? We will contact his senator. We are worried because I think anyone who applied same time is already going for an interview

if that's, indeed, the case,

then the petitioner should expect an interview at the local USCIS office prior to further adjudication.

an ISO on a telephone call with the petitioner can confirm exactly about the casefile movement and current casefile location and pending interview information.

Usually if there's to be a local interview at the local USCIS office, the petitioner is sent a piece of postal mail about it. Is there someone noticing his mail at his home address? or has it been held, with a USPS HOLD order? If it's been forwarded, well, sorry, USCIS mail is specifically NEVER forwarded due to USPS forward order.

It's exceptionally rare that a pending I-130 petition is sent to a local office for petitioner interview, usually there is something massively 'wrong' with the casefile or the petitioner's status. One example might be that the petitioner is currently a USCitizen, after getting this status from being married to a USCitizen who filed all of the immigration paperwork prior, and they are now divorced, and its less than 5 years since first greencard issuance. There are other reasons for this casefile movement, but I'll let the example sit, as it's one of the more 'harsh' reasons to have a face to face with a USCitizen petitioner prior to I-130 adjudication.

Same thing happened to our petition. Filed in December 2014. Called in April and discovered it had been transferred to local office. I am also from Detroit. USCIS couldn't tell me why so they said to make an Infopass. I did and they told me in the Detroit office it was sent there for interview. I asked why and they said it's normal process there. I was shocked because I know that's not true. Made a second Infopass and was told the same thing by another person! Maybe it's something about Detroit...

Also, since you mentioned your husband in in Ghana, the Detroit office didn't give much notice of interview. Only about 10 days! In fact, I was in Pakistan when my letter came. Luckily I arrived home in time to make the interview. So...if he's going to be there for a while, you might want to have someone reliable checking his mail!!
