Hey guys. I need some help. My husband summited the form I 130 a few months ago and still waiting for the approval. My question is. Do I need to change my single name for my married name in my country or Can I do it once I get to the states? It that will be a problem on the interview if I don't have his name?? In my country they don't change it they just add your husband last name to yours. Thanks

Green card in Visa name

Visa in passport name

(ALWAYS for IR1/CR1)

You can pay $450 to change the green card

OR

change it at ROC (if applicable)

OR

change it at citizenship (if you choose.)

I submitted my papers with my maiden last name because I hadn't changed it yet here. Afterwards when I changed my name in my social security and my passport I have sent the paperwork with that last name. It has not been a problem, they still send the paperwork with my maiden last name. you should be fine
