Today my wife had her interview and at the end she came out and said the IO needed to speak with me. He showed me a page from my 2014 tax transcript and the part where it said amount owed for 2014. He asked if I have paid it in full. I said I did. He asked if I had proof. I asked if a bank statement was okay. He said no it would need to be something from the IRS.

So what evidence can I get from the IRS to prove that I paid what I owe for 2014?

It was considerably more than the previous years and maybe that's why he asked about it.

Has anyone else had that experience as well?

You should have received a receipt saying it was paid. Also, your transcript should say it has been paid.

Thanks for your reply. I never got a receipt that I can remember.

I went to the IRS website to request a transcript and requested a return transcript and account transcript for 2014. Would one of those show that it's been paid?

Call & ask that they send you a paid in full for that period receipt

then scan & send

Okay I'll give them a call tomorrow and ask. Thank you.
