Update: Guys, my husband's card is IN PRODUCTION!!!!!!!!! I am so elated I can't even describe it. I got an email from them last night with the update. I almost burst into tears, I was so happy. It took a few hours to sink in, but right now I feel like I'm flying. I get to keep my husband :D Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement, and I wish everyone else the very best of luck!! I definitely learned a lot from this experience.

Congrats! And so glad to see it did not take long to get a respond. This will help other knowing that replying to an RFE will not be a long wait.

Thank you! Yes, I definitely hope my info is useful or encouraging to others. And yeah, I am SO glad it didn't take so long. I was checking my email obsessively like every 10 minutes for the first week, and then I finally convinced myself it would take a few months to hear back, so I kind of gave up hope or hearing anything soon. So I was super surprised and obviously excited to get a response so quickly. Man, I feel nothing but pure happiness after this! Be strong, people who are still waiting! :D

By the way, you mentioned they want the evidence by April 1. Not sure if you are going to wait until then but If you are planning to file your 2015 taxes soon and have no balance due, IRS says the transcripts become available 2-3 weeks after submission (for electronic filing). You have enough time to even include your 2015 tax return. https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Transcript-Availability

I filed on Feb. 2, was able to order the tax transcript Feb. 9. Received that and sent it in with my ROC packet Feb. 16. So there you go.

I know, that was my first thought too. I really didn't think that they'd be so critical of our money spending habits. I can show that we've been writing checks to the same places to pay our rent and other bills, but just because they don't come from the same place, that's all they care about? And we haven't had children because we honestly wouldn't be able to afford them. Are we supposed to drown ourselves in debt to prove our love? It's insulting and degrading. I'm just going to send as much as I can and just include a letter explaining that we have done our best to stay out of debt and contracts because we were trying to be safe with our limited finances. I really wish you the best of luck. I was so excited to see we got a letter from them... I was hoping for good news, and when I saw the letter my heart just sunk to the floor.

I don't have a will. Do you know where I could get information for how to create one? Is that something I need to get officially from a lawyer or can I just type up a document and get it notarized?

Go to LegalZoom online to do your wills. Not expensive, quick and easy.

I too am worried. Our situation is the same. I am retired on social security, and my wife is a CNA making very little. We have no money to have tons of assets to go joint on.

I am critical on what the USCIS truly considers Bonafide evidence of marriage and living together. Without an immigration officer living with you 24/7 there is truly nothing you can provide to give 100% proof.

I say this because any couple can get many things in Joint names, bank accounts, leases, mortgage, credit cards, loans, joint auto registration, etc, etc, and still not live together as man and wife.

Providing all these things they want still does not prove man and wife are living together if they are being dishonest about the relationship. So I feel the evidence and documents they want prove nothing if people want to be dishonest about it.

So, I feel I am providing the best evidence I can to prove to this agency that our marriage is true, bonafide and of love, but, I fear RFE and interviews wanting more and more is a bunch of non sense.

Thank you

Your case enlightened me lol, my experience was, WE missed to include the tax transcripts last year as I was so pre-occupied with family emergency issues back home. We even postponed the biometrics. Oh well, I'm positive for the RFE Respond we did. We've included all TAX Transcripts including 2015.

When will you start applying for N400? In my case, I can start applying by May 15, 2016 so I am hoping for the best :)

Oh jeez, that sounds stressful :( It was bad enough even with only minor personal issues going on. You'll be ok though!

My husband can start on his N400 this November, but I'm thinking actually we will wait a while. We have a few other personal goals to worry about, so it's nice to know we've got TEN YEARS to prepare for his citizenship, lol.

we are still waiting, yesterday was the 10th business day but we've been waiting for 15 days actually.. this waiting game is so hard especially after the rfe. You don't know what they're thinking. The status never changed since we got the NOA1.
