Thanks Darnell I'm going to try that. It is weird, I've never heard of this happening to anyone else! Everyone seems to get their biometrics right away even if their application takes a long time.

I have an info pass appointment for Tuesday... sooo.. hopefully they will actually try to help me and not just tell me to get lost and wait patiently until my case is lost for 14 months and denied and I'm deported

you got your pointed questions prepared ? ;)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I think so. I did some searching on the forms and it looks like even if people have their applications processed at NBC instead of the local office, they still always had their biometrics appointment in about a month, and they got their AP/EAD a few months into the process. So obviously my case is all sorts of messed up :(

OKAY :jest:

So, I went to my infopass appointment today. The lady at the desk was really not very nice at all, in fact I'd say she was pretty nasty. However, I have some answers! yay!

I had a biometrics appt Nov 30th and never received the notice for it. For some reason USCIS couldn't tell me this on the phone, and my local office couldn't tell me this via their email to me. Okay whatever. So I just have to mail a letter to Virginia now and ask them to reschedule it. I hope to God that works.

Thank you so much Darnell for encouraging me to go to the infopass. I don't know how much more time I would have wasted. It's already been two and a half months since I filed!

My AOS was received by USCIS on the 24th of November 2015, and I received the receipt a few days later. The Biometrics appointment letter was sent a week later and the appointment was on the 22nd of December 2015.

As of today, the 29th of January 2016, my case is now 'ready to be scheduled for an interview', but I called USCIS and they said that my field office is only up to cases received in early May 2015. I don't expect the AOS interview to be scheduled for a few months yet.

I'm very glad that bloopygirl's situation was resolved after going to an infopass appointment. Hopefully her case is an exception, not the rule! Typically, I would say that the Biometrics appointment is scheduled within the month after USCIS receives your case (and you get a receipt). Remember to check your case online at https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do using the receipt numbers on your NOA!
