Concealed carry applicants turned away at Spokane courthouse

SPOKANE, Wash. -

A number of people applying for concealed carry permits were told they would have to wait another day because there were too many background checks to process.

A line stretched down the hall of the Spokane County Public Safety Building Tuesday, filled with people applying for their concealed carry permit.

President Obama on gun control: "We can’t stop every act of violence, but why not try to stop one act of evil'

According to sheriff’s deputies, the wait to apply for a permit was between two and three hours at times.

By 12:30 p.m. deputies had no choice but to turn people away because the forensics division would not have time to finish processing applications by the end of the day. The line was so long employees knew they wouldn’t have time to process anymore.

The office to apply for concealed carry permits is open Tuesday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:05 p.m. Deputies recommend anyone wanting to apply Wednesday should plan to get in line around 8:00 a.m.

In December, 941 new applications were processed.

I am crying a river here. Hopefully the people unable to get their permits are able to before Obama outlaws guns entirely.

I was unaware that anyone over 18 in Spo-Vegas did not have a permit, these must be West of the Cascade refugees

so isn't that like other constitutionally mandated rights like say voting or jury duty?...those usually happen in the day

huh ? is that Vegas, as in Vegas, Vegas, or Las Vegas? ? I hope no folk in Spokane are travelling to Vegas to get a concealed-carry permit, that's just sad !

Maybe the clerk objects to concealed carry on religious grounds
