Hi guys,

So I filed EAD/AOS (didn't file AP since I didn't think I'd need it) in early October and case was received by USCIS on October 13, 2015. I got two notices in mail for biometrics and did it at the local office on November 19, 2015.

My AOS case status changed to "ready to be scheduled for an interview" on December 31, 2015 yet nothing has changed for EAD. I sent in a service request online and called two days later (on Day 88) to see if they might have issued a RFE or something and I might have missed it, yet I got the same answer as "it's still pending at this point and you don't have to do anything". Also the lady on the phone told me that I won't be able to send in another service request until 30 days later.

It just seems weird to me that the AOS seems be moving yet EAD is not... I have booked an INFOPASS appointment with the local USCIS office and hopefully they can issue me an interim EAD for the time being (or maybe I am lucky enough, the actual EAD will be approved before the interview).

It's just super annoying that I can't review my driver's license and it has expired for over 2 months now. :( also my husband is looking into going back to school (part-time) so it'll definitely help if I can get a job and help financially.

Has anyone of you had similar experience before?

Thanks!

I had the same experience as you. I was waiting for about a few weeks with the "ready to be scheduled for an interview" sign but yet my EAD was unchanged. Thankfully, two days ago my EAD status was approved! I'm waiting for my interview next week. It just takes some time. Good luck!

Thanks a lot!!! Good luck!!

I know it will come eventually...I just hate the fact that sometimes I have to drive with my expired license..

Do you mind sharing your timeline?

Thanks again!

That seems normal. We got our ready fot interview weeks ago, and nothing on the EAD. But since it's not yet at the 75 day mark and I have no concrete job offer I'll give it a few more days.

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about it but mine is over 90-day mark. Also I have been driving from time to time with my expired driver's license (which I really hate, especially in snowy winter condition). My husband has registered for spring semester (part-time student) and he will give up half of his hours and it'd be really helpful if I can work etc.

:cry::cry::cry: WHY NOT?

When I booked the appointment it gave me the option (I chose "over 90 days") and it booked me in for "Interim EAD"...

Congrats!!

I was going to respond to your thread the other day but got too busy. (sorry)

I also wanted to point out that you are counting your days wrong lol. Just because you filed (mailed) your application on 10/12- your NOA is dated 10/23. Thats technically the date you filed according to USCIS. So your EAD was approved under 90 days.

Your next step since you are waiting on an interview is to get an idea of where your local office is at. You can use the USCIS processing time chart or the AOS timelines on VJ filtered accordingly.
