I got married on Jan 7th (in Texas) and when I went on Jan 11th to have the licensed signed and was told the marriage license is the marriage certificate

But I remember hearing people getting A RFE for showing the License but not the certificate

For people who got married and did there AOS in Texas and got approved did you just show them the license and explained or did somehow got a certificate from somewhere ?

Any help is appreciated

I was afraid of an RFE for this too (Not for AOS but with I-130 package), so I included a cover letter for the document, with the assumption that whoever reviewed the package may have never seen a marriage license from Texas (or any other state that doesn't issue a separate marriage certificate). No RFE! It went something like this:

In the state of Texas, Marriage Certificates are not issued. The Marriage License itself is certified by the officiant upon completing the marriage ceremony, and the license is again signed by a County Clerk’s deputy upon filing at the County Clerk’s office.

If additional clarification is needed, please feel free to contact supervisor Diannia A. Leyva at the Office of the County Clerk of El Paso.
