Hello everyone,

New to this whole process and starting paperwork. I will be coming from Korea (I am American) with my new wife (Korean). I have been a teacher here for 5 years. I have money saved but if I am understanding everything correctly my foreign income won't count for much or anything. Also, my job will end when I move back stateside. So, I will need a joint-sponsor,

My joint-sponsors will be my parents who file taxes together. Is this correct:

I will I-864.

My father will fill out another I-864 and my mother will fill out an I-864a.

Thanks so much!

You only need one of your parents. If both meet the 125% poverty requirements, then choose which you want to co-sponsor, but they both do not need to fill out the AoS

Not quite correct.

Most embassies, especially when a couple files taxes jointly, want to see a I-864A from the other spouse to ensure they are aware of their obligations.

Exactly. Theoretically, the first response is correct, but in practice, not so much.

I hope you read all the responses, because the one you quoted in your "thanks" was WRONG.
