You'll have to let me know. I'm going back March 8th. Staying a week. Planning on going to Embassy on March 15th a day before flight home. So will have plenty of time for more photos. I think that may have hurt us in that we only had 8 photos. Basically I'm not really one to take a lot of photos and at the time did not think of how it would impact interview.

Do you have a lot of photos?

We application got approve. The hold process was ok. At window 1 from 1300 to 1400 door open at 12:45 but you can start lining up at 12:30. You cannot be on the same side of the road of the consulate before that. You have to stand on the other side of the road. Go through security check. More standing in line. Give your blue sheet they then give you a number. They will then call your number to submit all your required document and any proof you got. Sit down and wait for them to call. They will call you depend on what they want. Some people got call up to a window and the CO ask/interview them and they will tell you to sit down and wait. Other get called to the window and there visa was not approve and got another blue sheet. Other have to start all over and other got called to the window and got approve. They did not interview me at all I just submitted all the required docs and got call to the window and they said we got approve. Hope this help later wish u luck!!

Congrats,

good info. Im still waiting for my NOA2 but try to read here to get prepare and get as much ready as i can.

After reading this thread im kind of worry about my case. I do not like take picture much so we have very little picture together. I talked an video call her via skype everyday, chat, email. Don't know if they going to look through that evidence or just base on the picture we submit and make the decision.

I don't think they will look at the picture that much. Just make sure you screen shot of each other everyday you talk. If you only visited her once and haven't visit her again before your interview I would suggest you write a statement stating why you haven't visit her again. If you never got marry also a statement from each of you stated that you never marry. Extra never hurt. Our petition got a blue sheet which required more proof and they asked for all of that. I think they too lazy to look through the whole package if they did they would have known I have never been marry.

Congratulations! So happy for you!

Hoping we have the same results. Going back to HCMC in 2 weeks. Will take some pics the first week and go to the embassy with blue sheet the 2nd week. I had the exact same issue as you as well. They asked questions about items such as ex-spouse and children as well even though the application clearly states neither of us have previously been married. I just wrote a letter stating this information is not possible to provide. I don't have screen shots as our conversations have been on Viber for over a year now since her laptop broke. I did download the Viber chat logs and it was over 2000 pages so I took a sample of 2 pages per month to prove an ongoing relationship. There is no way they want over 2000 pages. As you said, I think they are too lazy.

Planning on going to the embassy March 14 2016. Landing March 8 2016.

Wish us luck, I wish all the best in their journeys to marriage

Thanks, I came back to see here right before i filed the petition last december.

I have phone call record, facbook log and lot of skype log but that could be in thousand page do i print them all ?

Also i check uscis website and our case was approved couple days ago, still waiting for the hard copy to come in the mail.

As i understand, wait about 10 business day to call NVC to get the case number.

Once i got the case number what can i do while waiting NVC prepare our case to send to Saigon ?

Can you guys please let me know what kind of documents they request in Packet 3 ?

Also can you please share some experience about medical exam and vacination?

Thank you all

I just screen shot my Facebook chat log and piece them together in Word doc.

It took my petition one month until NVC receives my petition from USCIS and from there 2 weeks for US consulate in Vietnam to receive my petition from NVC.

Once you got a case number from NVC you can go to this website to check if the consulate received your petition:

https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Once the status is ready. You are ready to do the next step. I would not wait for the package your fiancée suppose to receive because my never received her. I just go online to:

http://hochiminh.usconsulate.gov/mobile/contact/ivinquiries.html

And ask them about the package. They will attach a letter with your email stating they have received the petition. With that letter. You can do the next step. Everything in package 3 is also online you just need that letter. Package here:

This was my personal experience and I am not sure how accurate the process is now, but this was 1 1/2 yrs ago.

After getting your HCM-XXXX case number from the NVC, keep checking the status on the CEAC website daily. Once it shows Ready, it means your package is on its way to the Consulate in Saigon. Give it a few days (more like a week) then fill out the online inquiry form on the Consulate website and ask if they have received your package. Normally, they get the electronic version first, and the physical package arrives a few days later. The staff at the consulate will tell you whether they have received the package and when you can expect the Packet 3.

Wait 2-3 weeks for the Packet 3. If you do not receive it by then, contact the consulate again asking them to email you a copy. At this time, you can go ahead and fill out the online DS-160 form, sign up for an account on ustraveldocs.com, print out the voucher to pay the Visa fee, and wait 24 hrs then come back to ustraveldocs.com site to schedule your interview appointment. You can also schedule your medical exam now (by calling the phone # on the Packet 3 Instructions Sheet), but not the vaccination because it is walk-in only. You will need a copy of the interview appointment confirmation for your medical exam and vaccination(s).

I have read that some people did not wait until they get the Packet 3 to fill out the DS-160 and pay the Visa fee. It is entirely up to you but we were advised by the consulate staff to wait until we get it (either by mail or email). The only benefit of doing the above prior to receiving the Packet 3 letter, I think, is if you are in a hurry and want to grab the first available appointment slot.

Just back from Vietnam, Visa approved. We waited quite a while with all documents requested on the blue sheet. The CO at the window spoke only in Vietnamese to my fiancee so I really don't know what was being said. Suddenly my fiancee screams YES and jumped up to hug me.
There were multiple colored sheets in front of the CO so I really was not sure of what was going on until my fiancees reaction.

There were many others there and they must have been in a giving mood that day, almost all that I saw got approved.

Hello All,

My application is at the consulate in Saigon, and CEAC status show it "Ready" does that mean they already send out package 3 to my fiance in the mail ? I already submit a request for an electronic copy but haven't received a response yet, possible some time next week I hope.

After reading OP i'm a little worry because we don't have a lot of picture (i never like taking picture), we have about 15 pictures together going on a tour, picture of us with her parent when I visited them, pictures of us with my uncle and cousin at restaurant, that basically it.

First time i went to VN meet her a little over a year ago, second time about 10 months later before filling the petition. I called her and she call me every day to wake each other up, but chat a lot on skype and video chat on skype. So i have phone call logs and chat log, my question about chat log print out, do i print out all of them ? that could be thousand of page, some said just print out couple page each month. I really don't know what would be best for the chat log.

Please give me some guidance

Thanks

As for the PKT3 letter, it will be delivered to her residence. So she will be able to tell you that. It is somewhat confusing. It is not labeled as package 3 or PKT3 as they tell you. It is simply the letter that comes with instructions. That is your PKT3 letter.

15 pictures should be plenty.

Regarding chat logs, I had same issue and what I did was take a sample of 2 random days per month, and at the header of the logs, put the month and year. Worked for me. If you can get a record of calls, that would be a good idea.
