My daughter-in-law (Brazil) had her AOS interview last Friday.

I prepared their paperwork and sent copies of evidence of join accounts along with her AOS package. (stuff like phone account, AAA membership (no bank account since she doesn't have physical SSN card)

I also prepared 2 huge folders full of "evidence" for them to take.

Their AOS interview lasted approx. 10 minutes and they were not asked to show anything they took with them

The lady saw their folders and laughed that they took so much stuff with them...said it wasn't needed unless it was a complicated case

I would put as much as you have in your AOS application and see what happens.

It makes me nervous that interviewers say that because you can bet your bottom dollar that if they had take just marriage certificate and proof of wedding, they would have been asked for more stuff!

adjusting from a K-1, this evidence isn't needed.

With that said, the Removal of Conditions casefile, now thats a pile o stuff right there.

I wonder if'n the OP got the directions swapped?

Tax Returns, Pictures, Bank Accounts, Insurance Documents, Drivers Licenses, Leases, Car Titles. You are proving that their is a bonafide relationship. Whatever it takes to prove it, do it.

For an AOS casefile ? OK - I challenge that.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Well, i dont know. People have said they provide these documents when sending their AOS in every thread ive read, plus ive followed this blog http://averageasianmom.com/2014/12/12/k1k2-application-for-aos-ead-and-ap-in-us/ where they also say they have sent evidence of relationship with their package. But i guess it doesnt even matter right now from what you and other user had pointed out, just when and if getting an interview and for ROC.. Thanks for your input. I assume you sent your package without the proof and got no trouble at all? Thank you again :)

Not sure how many AOS threads you have actually read, but many people follow the I-485 instructions and do not send in any proof of relationship with their AOS submissions. The only proof of your relationship that is required is a copy of your marriage certificate. This topic of what is needed for AOS has also been discussed plenty of times. The I-485 instructions do not ask for any proof of relationship. Read through them.

I don't have a blog, but can tell you that my husband and I never provided any proof of our marriage beyond the copy of our marriage certificate, and that was with having an AOS interview.

Lots of those adjusting from a K-1 get approved without an RFE or interview, and they do not send in anything extra. Just what is required works. If you get an interview, then take whatever documentation you have to show co-mingling of finances and co-habitation. The IO may or may not ask for it. Most interviews for K-1 adjusters seem to be fairly quick, relaxed and easy. An IO understands the fact that you just got married recently and would not have a large paper trail documenting your marriage together yet.

For ROC, the large paper trail is very much needed, so save up your evidence for that over the next couple years.

You'll need evidence of mingling your finances for Removal of Conditions on your green card later, so ask your husband to read these posts here.

If he feels odd adding you to his main account he could always open up another checking account WITH YOU and regularly put money into it for groceries, incidentals, whatever, until you get a job and can deposit funds into the account as well. Maybe you could start a little savings account together and put a little into it every month? And you will really need to be added to the apartment lease, and to the auto insurance.

Marriage...is about trusting each other, with so many things. Think ahead and save yourself some headaches 2 years down the road.
