Dear VJ members,

after being put on administrative processing for 6 weeks after I submitted my last required documents after my interview due to a sponsorship issue, the embassy in Beirut called me today to tell me that I have to pass by them to pick-up a letter from the Consul himself apparently (at least that's what the lady told me over the phone). I am not sure what this means, especially that my status on the CEAC website was not changed or updated (still under administrative processing). Could this be a letter or refusal? or could it be a letter where they tell me to bring in more documents or papers?

Please in anyone has been through this experience, I would like your guidance and help.

Thank you in advance for any input you may provide.

Wishing you all a very good day.

Sincerely,

Mohamad.

well they just updated the CEAC website now, and its still under "administrative processing" which is actually good considering the circumstances since its not a refusal. I figure they probably need additional papers or information. Hope it's not alot of stuff though.

It looks like you will be under AP as security background check and screening. Let us know what was it.

Hello again guys, went to the embassy today and got the letter, they just need more papers related to the co-sponsorship, which is a big relief. I am going back to submit them on Friday and this should be the last step I hope. One thing i noticed though, was that the letter was dated from the 18th of December, which meant that they made me wait almost a month after it, which kinda sucks, but understandble because it was a holiday season. Lets hope this time it won't take this long, I am assuming i should get my Visa by the end of the month (2 weeks) if everything goes well and they don't ask for any additional papers.

Thank you for all that helped and gave me their insight on the matter, will keep you guys posted on my next step.

Cheers to everyone.

Mohamad.

i'm very surprised they not email to you, this extra 'letter'.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hello Everyone!

So they updated the CEAC website today twice. The first time it was only a date update (it was still under Administrative processing, they just changed the update date). But then, it went from Administrative processing to Ready! does this mean that my visa Has been approved?! and if that's the case how long would it take them to Issue it!

Hope someone can give me some feedback regarding this. I am so excited!!!!

Its hard to tell how long will it take, but good thing the status is being updated. Mine changed to issued the next day after the interview. Keep checking the website and let us know. Good luck.

Hey everyone. Thanks again for the kind wishes. I am picking-up my passport on monday (they gave me the orange slip with that date on it).

As for the Co-Sponsorship, they requested the following:

1- Co-Sponsor proof of citizenship (That can be a Passport copy or Just a citizenship Paper).

2- Tax Returns for 2014 in my case, could be 2015 for you because we're into 2016 + W2 from the Co-sponsorship. They might ask you for IRS Tax papers as well which is different from the tax returns.

3- The Co-sponsor has to fill-out an I-864 form (which is the Co-sponsorship form) and they also asked for an I-134 Later (Affidavit of Support) so have that prepared as well in case they ask you for it.

4- Proof of employment of the Co-sponsor, so a letter from the employer of the Co-Sponsor.

That's what they asked from me. Could be different in your case. But it's good to go prepared. Good luck! hope this helped.
