Renewed DL after getting green card, still no DL in hand after 8 months...

I went to DMV in April 2015 with new green card to renew license, was issued a 3 month temp license while application processed, a few weeks before temp license expired still hadnt heard anything so went back and DMV deny any knowledge of green card and issued another temp license, 3 months after that still no license so returned again and once again denial that they had received a current proof of lawful presence but will expedite my request, still nothing after another 2 months so I return only for them to tell me they were unable to renew my drivers license due to the name on my green card not matching the name on the homeland security database... how does this happen? how can DHL issue a green card with the correct name printed on it but not have the correct name in their system? Iv been advised to call DHL and figure out mistake and then call a special DMV department and if not fixed by April then I have to start whole DL application again so new road and written test, so frustrated. I tried calling customer service for USCIS and went round and round the automated system with no human to talk to so just sent off an electronic service request but I know those take weeks to reply, help

Hi, not sure how California is...exchanging your British driver license.

Here in Toronto, I brought in my Florida one and swapped it..rather than starting from scratch.

Infopass sounds good to me as well. It is possible that USCIS (DHS) doesn't have your greencard status entered properly in the SAVE database.

I know my husband's first social Security card said "John Smith" because that's all that was on his I-94 and they said his card had to be the same. When his greencard came "John A Smith" both SS and DL had to match his new USCIS record as found in SAVE, so they both issued card and DL as John A Smith. Then when he naturalized, the certificate was Issued John Allen Smith. Both Social Security and DMV said they had to issue a new SS card and DL to match USCIS with the full three names. So either your DMV isn't really submitting for manual verification of your greencard or maybe there really is a discrepancy between your card name and the computer record.

Btw the response to my e-request was schedule an infopass, I try and schedule an infopass and they say no available appointments in future. I dont get home from work until 7:30 during week, anyone know if they open late evening or weekends to call? and how do I get through to a person? last time I called I just went round and round the automated process.
