Howdy and thanks,

help understand the timeline. My wife arrived here on 01/01/2013.

She recieved her 2 yrs green card a few weeks afterward and last year her 10 years GC.

base on the 3 years marriage, i sent in her N-400 package around October 2015 (90 days to 1/1/2016) they rejected it, saying it was too soon?

So i sent it again in December 2015, they rejected it again. I don't understand why they rejected it because i sent it in 90 days to the day she received her green card.

Please help me understand.thanks

-wife arrived 1/1/2013

3 years 1/1/2016

2 years green arrived a few weeks later, now have 10 years green card.

thanks and i appreciate your help.

What is the Resident Since date on her green card?

According to the USCIS Early Filing Calculator at http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/dateCalculator.html - if her Resident Since date is 01/01/2013, she would've been eligible to file early on 10/03/2015

What is the initial date on her 2 yr green card? It is 90 days from that date. Do if you arrived In January, and your green card was issued weeks later, your start date may have been February or March. It is 90 days from that date.

Thanks all who responded.

Her 2 years green card is 01/01/2013.

but now she has a 10 years green card.

yes, i thought she was eligable to file the N-400 base on the date 1/1/2013.

that'ts where im confused to why they rejected her application.

Thank you all for replying to my post.

My wife resident since date on her 2 years card is 01/01/2013 to 01/01/2015

Her 10 years resident since card is 01/01/2013- 04/01/2025

I sent in the N-400 first time October 20 something(2015). it was rejected.

The second time i sent it in on December 28,2015, it was rejected. (mailed back to me with date January,4 2016 rejection)

both times, they sent the generic 3 years 5 years letter.

I had everything correct. fee. photo, supporting docs. etc...

Met all the requirement needed to meet. I check the filing calculator. can file 10/3/2015

That's why i don't understand why would they rejected it.

Again thank you all for responding.

Hi

You mentioned that she arrived on 1/1/2013 then said she has been a resident on the same date?

Please answer these 2 questions to understand your concern:

1- On the unconditional green card, there are 2 dates on the lower right corner. "Card Expired" and "Resident Since" what are those dates?

2- In your N400 application, did you mark yes for filing under 3 years or 5 years?
