Was just wondering if anyone had any information on what it means for my K1 Visa to be under review by consular officer, after I had my meeting dec 9th the agent told me my visa was approved and congratulated me, I have yet to receive a tracking number for my visa and all they tell me is its under review. Anyone know how long this take and what that means since I was told already that I was approved? Thanks in advance for any info.

Most likely your in AP. You can read up in the AP forum. Plenty of folks in your same situation. No one can tell you how long it takes. Could be days weeks or months. You could fill in your timeline while you wait. It may be helpful if you have any further questions.

Good Luck

I didn't receive anything saying I was in AP, should I have? My history says applicant has no 221g history, what does that mean? And when I check CEAC my status says ready. I just don't understand after being told I was approved and it would take up to two weeks (I thought to get my visa) but if he meant to be reviewed it's still been longer than 2 weeks now and no update.

This happened to me, too. Just wait it out, it's normal. The fact you said you have no 221g history is good, since that's a denial.

Reviewing the case further is being in Administrative Processing(AP). If you did not receive a 221g, then contact your consulate to ask if your case has been placed in AP. Get confirmation about what is happening with your visa approval. They may just tell you again that it is under review. They don't tend to give a timeline for when it will be out of AP.

This law site has a FAQ about AP they may help you > https://pennstatelaw.psu.edu/sites/default/files/documents/pdfs/Immigrants/Administrative-Processing-FAQ.pdf

Yeah I'm originally from Canada and I'm a stray at home mom. My fiancé is in the US and I'm here in Canada with our son who's a dual citizen. I've been emailing them for days and nothing back. Besides an email over a week ago saying the file is pending review from consular officer.

Did you have to wait a long time?

About a month. Don't forget that they were also just closed due to the holidays, that's bound to slow things down.

I was in AP for 5+ months, technically I still am, but I have a second interview on tuesday.

My interview was just like yours, approved and told 2 1/2 -3 weeks but then nada. Can I ask if you were born in Canada? I wasn't but naturalized as a child. I am wondering if that is what the issue is with most others.
