My husband received his advance parole and EAD card recently, and would like to travel before finalizing a job acceptance in the US. He is worried about going through immigration again at the airport as we had snags in various points of the process prior (RFE for K1 and after K1 Embassy interview).

Has anyone travelled on their AP before their greecard? Any experiences to help us make a decision on what to do would be very helpful!

He is traveling to Italy for about two weeks, and would have proof he went to be there while his brother was having a surgery.

Thanks so much!

No issues traveling at all. My wife traveled back home less than a week afer getting her Adanced Parole. Depending on what airport he comes back into the USA he might have to go to another area to have his card checked etc.

My wife and I visited the Philippines last year for 3 weeks. We had no big issues leaving her country or entering the USA. Be sure he brings:

1. His passport

2. His EAD/AP combo card.

and

3 An original copy of your marriage certificate.

Upon returning to the USA, he will be taken into secondary for questioning. This is normal and takes about 5 min. So no need for him to be nervous.

I traveled to Italy and back with my EAD/AP combo card while I was adjusting status from my K1. Only mini-problem I had was the Delta ground personnel in Italy was not familiar with the card. I was referred to a supervisor who double-checked it and eventually gave me the all clear to board.
