If you say so. Those books were written in an age where most people couldn't read. Hard to imagine people still find reasons to believe they should be taken literally.

Most Muslims sadly do. Any thought on want can be done to change that view?

Since you havent bothered to read them there is tv for you to know all about it when they are literally followed.

yeah, all the 'good' religions are constantly rewriting their ancients texts to keep us all out of the stone age and to make sure there's no confusion amongst followers. lol.

Yes, they haven't changed in millenia, and they were written for an audience that was ignorant and illiterate. I'm not sure what it is you get out them, but whatever it is I'm happy for you.

Yes, horses don't seem to be quite as dogmatic about things as people are.

You might say religion doesn't kill people, people kill people. Religion is just a tool. It's not designed to kill, but sometimes, in the wrong hands, it can be deadly. Especially when the practitioners don't use it responsibly. Perhaps the world just needs more responsible people.

Reveal the teachings prior to Mohammed The Prophet's time. Spread em around often.

That's about all I can think of, really.

Who knows? if'n it's proved up Mohammed was a piker, then maybe folksen would not quickly follow his version of The God Stuff.

I'd venture to say it has a lot to do with how one cherry picks the holy books and make sense out of ambiguous, often paradoxical texts. You can find tons of 'nasty stuff' in the Old Testament, and tons of 'nasty stuff' in the Quran. You can find tons of 'good stuff' in the Old Testament, and tons of 'good stuff' in the Quran.

The day religion becomes a personal matter, there will be less of 'this.'
