GC approved, now does she need to travel within 6 months?

Timeline

She needs to enter the US prior to her immigrant visa expiring. She can leave as soon as she processes through immigration but she must enter the US to initiate the issuance of her green card.

Typically how long before the immigrant visa expires? The reason I ask is that she just cant leave because she has a lot of unfinished business in India still.

Typically it expires 6 minutes months after the medical. The expiry date will be printed on the visa.
