But he's already filed for the fiance visa though. And he's paid the fee already. Besides, income requirement is still 125% of the current poverty guidelines

That's why it's very important to research all requirement before applying.

Maybe he should consider a second job or start looking for a better paying job.

USEM does accept co-sponsors with the K-1 visa, on a case by case basis. No guarantees like with an immigrant visa but I know of a number of couples that were approved with a K-1 visa and a co-sponso
