From lodging the first lot of paperwork to hubby arriving in the U.S., it took us barely over 12 months.

If I had acted quickly and had the paperwork ready for the next step each time I finished one process, we could have been done in as little as 6 months.

It all depends on the backlogs and government processing times as well, which can be out of your control.

We started in May. Got our first notice in June, two weeks after i posted the I-130. It was approved 2 weeks later.

It took about two months until our info was at NVC. I waited another 2 months to send our AOS package information. We received a checklist for me completing the form incorrectly (my fault) and I took two more months to re-submit everything.

We Started the process at the end of May 2014. Hubby had his interview and approval at the end of April 2015. I slowed the process down by 4/5 months due to waiting to send my information in, and completing a form with a minor error in it.

It can go as fast a 6-8 months or as slow as a year and half or two years. We were expecting it to take a year and half at least. The best advice I can say is to have the next step information ready to go ASAP if you don't want to slow things down! For us, the Assurance of Support was the hardest part as we both lived and worked overseas. Thankfully I have amazing family who helped us out in the US on that!

My husband does not like paperwork whatsoever but he's going to endure the headache so we can get me over quicker!

We are going to send off the initial steps in the next week or 2 but we are already preparing for the financial statement with the help of his Mum!
