Consultat says they sent me a letter....

Hi everybody!

So, my fiancé and I thought we were almost done with the whole process... But apparently not. I thought I just had to wait for the package 3 to arrive, take an appointment for the medical office and then wait the package 4. But apparently, the consulat sent me a letter asking me for a proof of my status in Canada. They say they sent it on December 22nd. The thing is... I have never received it! I know with the holidays we need to be more patient, but still!

So, I was wondering if it ever happened to you, if there's a way to track the letters they send to us, if I'm allowed to be super nervous and paranoid and think that it got lost or someone stole it.

Welcome to the forum.

This is primarily is a "Do-It-Yourself" (DIY), and as such most folks here don't employ "consultants." Whenever I sent letters/applications/petitions to USCIS I followed the VJ Guides. I sent it USPS, priority mail, return receipt requested/delivery confirmation. I have had no issues.

I think OP means the consulate in Canada asked for legal proof of their status in Canada.

If this is the case, you can email the consulate and tell them you never received the letter, and ask for it to be resent to you.

Ah, consulate, as in US consulate in Montreal or Vancouver, makes sense, a bit too cryptic my tired eyes.

Also, you have the order wrong on how to do everything.

You wait for packet 3, and then send them back packet 3, via email/the instructions they give you.. You do NOT make your medical or interview until you've received packet 4 back. All of this is done via email. Packet 4 gives you permission to schedule everything.

Some medical (like my fiance's) actually ask for your interview information to confirm that you have an interview before scheduling you, this isn't the cases at all of them, but was the case for my fiance.
