You have to realize that employers are not exploit ing you. They are just offering help in terms of internship. They spend more time teaching you. Please, consider it as favor, not as exploitation.. Providing you with experience. H1B visa is a lot of hassles. Unless you are a programmer or scientist no one will hassle..

I would concentrate on larger companies especially within the IT sector, they obtain most of the H1b's. Especially Indian Outsourcing companies.

Are you looking at non profits? Profit companies are subject to the lottery.

This is good advice. My Pakistani next door neighbor completed her MBA at a US university 2 years ago and then got on with Deloitte Consulting doing IT work. The company went forward with the H1b visa process for her because they do that with many employees from abroad. Note, my friend was hired mainly for her technical background, not for her general business education, which makes sense because the H1b process requires the company to justify hiring the person because they weren't able to fill the position with a US employee. Business skills are pretty available in the US labor market, technical skills are less so.

I don't think your MBA at DeVry is holding you back. MBA's are a dime a dozen in the US. For proof, I have one! ;) Unless you have an MBA from an Ivy League school or Univ of Chicago or something like that, there isn't a lot of differentiation. Again, you have to sell hard your technical skills to get a job with H1b visa.

Just keep looking. You have a year. It's not impossible.

This is mostly wrong. There have been many, many reports that US companies are mis-using internships to staff menial positions for free.

Unfortunately the MBA from DeVry may hold you back. For some degrees like Lawyer or MBA getting one from a prestigious university matters a lot and DeVry is not top on that list. You may have an uphill battle until you gain more experience. Also the bulk of the OPT to H1B transition I've seen are in the tech industry or STEM graduates.

And sacking US Employees and replacing them with cheaper H1b's.

Hello, Im on F1 visa studying my MBA program. I want to get a work visa H1-B and stay in the US. But i faced so many difficulties with applying my resume. All companies where I had internships (5) they exploited me by promising provide me with sponsorships and pay me after 3 months internship program but in the end they didn't pay me nothing and told me they stopped to provide work visas. So I have started at new companies over and over and every where had the same problem. I have my school for one year more and still hope and trying to find a sponsor for my visa but honestly more I do more I understand its almost impossible.

I really really want to work but I have to work in my specialization and if its not I can have a big problems with Immigration agency. I feel like I'm in a vicious circle and don't know what to do.Any advices in my situation?

Have you thought about joining the US Army? You would be a US citizen at the end of bootcamp and I am sure the Army could use a talented individual with an MBA who speaks fluent Russian. You would gain valuable experience. Perhaps stop by a recruiting center at a mall and talk to a recruiter.

She doesn't have the legal status to join the US Army.

If she has OPT, and an EAD, then she does actually! You just have to be in the US legally. I checked with my friend who is a recruiter at a mall in the Los Angeles area. He said they don't advertise it before the Army is "kinda full" right now, but I think it's worth a shot for this girl since she has higher education.

But basically that is what internships are for.. It is a legal exploitation of recent graduates.

But the thing is, OP is making it sound like she is being exploited due to her status.

The thing is they do it to everybody. So long as you get an unpaid internship, it is unpaid.

She doesn't have the legal status to join the US Army.

I know of some international students who were able to join the US Navy when I was in college. They were accepted and they are now citizens. So there's a way.

OP should concentrate on doing more internships and signing up with recruitment agencies.

1. MBA is not a degree in high demand. There are several Americans with MBA who are working low skill jobs. Lots of companies will hire experience over education so get all the experience you can.

2. Devry university is not a big shot university in my opinion. They have had series of Class-action suits against them (1996,2000,2002,2007,2008 and 2013) stemming from false advertisement to bribing students to give them good reviews. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeVry_University

That in itself tarnishes the image of the school a bit.Read their reviews on google.

So, my advise is, be glad you are able to get an internship but while you are there, network and meet people, apply for other positions. You know your situation and be very aggressive about taking any opportunity that presents itself at your internship.

Most of the companies that are willing to sponsor H1b usually go for the STEM majors.

If you don't want an unpaid internship, don't take them. Every company has it's own practices and some will let you sharpen pencils..lol..(jk)

A friend of mine went to Phoenix University with a Business degree and has yet to find a job with his degree.

You might be able to join the US ARMY thru MAVNI..>>> Link below

https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/2014/03/military-options-for-international-students

If none of the above works, you should look at international organizations or transnational corporations that may have location in your home country. Some USAID jobs require citizenship from the country of operation. So you might be able to work in your home country through USAID.

Good luck!

Please don't take this wrong, but -- you will make ourself more competitive if you also improve your English. I know this is an informal forum and people don't focus as much on grammar, etc., but when reading your posts, it seems like you still struggle a bit with English. With a degree from what some people perceive to be a paid diploma mill and non-standard English, you will have a difficult time being competitive for most postitions that hire MBA holders. Many times, it's all about the first impression (even when it's only paper and they haven't met you yet) -- perception is everything.

thank you any way:)

it's very strange to me that you are doing OPT without having completed the MBA. Usually, folk FINISH the degree first, applying for OPT about 2 or 3 months before graduation, getting it assigned and the DSO at the school actually helps out with finding a USA employer to work for .

Perhaps DeVry is a bit loosey-goosey about this ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
