Did they lose our petition package??

Hello.

We sent our petition package to CSC and received a delivery confirmation signed on Feb 23, 2007.

Well, it has been about two weeks now, and our check has not been cashed and we haven't received NOA1 yet.

I looked through other people's timeline on this site, and it seems to me that our case is not moving as fast.

Should I start to worry that our petition package may have been lost?

Any advice would be very appreciated.

12/30/2009---I-751 Receipt Notice Date

Still waiting for a biometrics appointment letter....

I looked through other people's timeline on this site, and it seems to me that our case is not moving as fast.

Take a look at my timeline in my sig. Except for the delivery receipt, we didn't see any action for 26 days. My fiance called Nebraska in the 4th week, and they said that they won't investigate to see what happened to a package until it's been 4 weeks until it was mailed. The cheque got cashed shortly before those 4 weeks were up.

Hang in there. Sometimes it's slow, but if you have a delivery receipt, your package is probably somewhere in the system. :)

I don't think you should worry about your package being lost. First, because you do have your delivery confirmation. Second, because it does take about 2 weeks sometimes (you can look at my signature...). It'll arrive anyday now.

February 16th 2007 - cheque cashed

February 22nd 2007 - NOA1 received by mail!

May 16th - received NOA2 hardcopy

May 25th - first set of documents received home in Bucharest (list of documents to present at the interview) - based on fiance's request to open a provisional file

May 30th - packet arrived at the Embassy, Embassy notifies us about it.

June 21st - interview APPROVED!

June 22nd - VISA

August 17th - arriving in USA, through JFK

Sept 8th - wedding :)

Dec. 18th 2007 - NOA for AOS, EAD, AP

Yeah don't worry yet, it took till day 13 after receiving my package to get my NOA1 and that was through VSC! :lol:

K-1 visa issued: 12/15/2006

107 days from mailing AOS package to receiving green card! Received 6/27/07 dated 6/20/07

Here is our update....

CSC still has not cashed our check or sent us NOA1. It has been more than one month since our packet was delivered (February 23rd).

My fiance in the US called CSC two weeks ago and they told him that they would see what is going on and get back to him in a week or two. He had not heard from them as of today, so he called CSC this afternoon and they still have no news for us!!

I can't believe this is happening to us..... I just hope that they have our packet somewhere and won't ask us to refile....

Up until now, I thought maybe I was being impatient and should not worry too much. But now I am really worried!

Will we still be considered and treated as a February filler even if we have to refile our application?

I'd hold and keep calling them once a week to see what the status is. The system is run by people so there is room for human error. Your petition may have been recieved but may be on someone desks hidden from plain site. They are most likely looking for it. Keep in contact with them and see how everything is going. If you have a delivery receipt and they lost your petition, dicuss what recourse you have for the time that you have lost.

The delivery receipt is signed by the person who accepted your packet, right? Maybe next time you're fiancee would call, mention them the name of that person. Who knows, it might help. Just my two cents...

We will definately keep contacting them.

CSC told my fiance that there is a record of them receiving the package, but there is not enough information to issue a case number; whatever that means.

My fiance already gave them the name of a person who signed the delivery confirmation receipt....

They will keep looking for it for a little longer until they give up and tell us that they lost it, I guess. But they told my fiance that our petition will be fast-tracked. I hope they keep the promise.

Well at least you have a delivery confirmation so that means they have it. I'm sure that your check will be cashed very soon and shortly after you will be sent your NOA.

Heh whoops - sorry, I missed that. :blush:

I'd definitely be inclined to call the cust service number again sometime this week and see if they've 'found' it.

BTW 'fast tracking' at CSC is sort of a contradiction in term. So what - 2 months instead of three or four?? :lol:
