I just sent of our I-751 package for my spouse. I believe our supporting evidence is pretty strong. We recently bought a house together and I submitted the deed and all related documents to the purchase of the house as evidence as well joint utility bills, joint cable bills, joint lease from our previous apartment and joint tax returns. But the things I did not include are a joint bank account (we have a joint account but the credit union puts only my name on the monthly statements) and pictures. I'm starting to have DOUBTS about not making an effort to include them? Below is the full list of what I submitted:

  1. Copy of our joint US tax return for the year 2013;
  2. Copy of our joint US tax return for the year 2014;
  3. Copy of the recorded Deed of Trust, in both our names, for our jointly purchased home;
  4. Copy of the recorded Grant Deed, in both our names for our jointly purchased home;
  5. Copy of the Final Closing Statement, in both our names, for our jointly purchased home;
  6. Copy of the joint mortgage application for our jointly purchased home;
  7. Copy of our mortgage statements, in both our names, for December 2015 and January 2016 from FirstCal Mortgage for our jointly purchased home;
  8. Copy of Home Insurance, in both our names, for our jointly purchased home;
  9. Copy of our joint apartment lease for our previous residence we both resided at from 1/2009 to 11/2015 in San Francisco, CA;
  10. Copy of our joint rental insurance policies for our previous apartment;
  11. Copy of our California Driver’s License/ID cards showing we have the same address (same previous address )
  12. Copies of our joint PG&E utility bills dating back to March 2014;
  13. Copies of various joint Comcast Cable bills dating back to March 2014;
  14. Copy of our Costco Club cards on a joint account;
  15. Copy of our airline reservations for a joint trip that we planned in March 2015 to Seattle;
  16. Copy of our airline reservations for a joint trip that we planned in May 2015 to Miami;
  17. Copies of various Notices of Entry dating back to march 2014 addressed to both of us for entry into our jointly leased apartment
  18. Letter Affidavit from my friend and real estate agent
  19. Letter Affidavit from my sister
  20. Letter Affidavit from my brother
  21. Copy of Joint AAA membership information
  22. Copy of Joint Letter/Email to apartment management company giving our 30 day notice that we are vacating our previous apartment
  23. Life Insurance Policy designating my spouse as beneficiary (Policy 1)
  24. Life Insurance Policy designating my spouse as beneficiary (Policy 2)

25. Statement of Services from MetLife regarding dental services provided to my spouse under employer-provided dental insurance.

Someone with experience please tell us we are fine!!

ya, this evidence of financial co-mingling stuff is important.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Based on my experience, I wasn't able to submit Bank Joint Accounts, I submitted them during the interview because they asked if I have any more documents (recent Income Tax returns, Joint Bank accounts, any mail sent with my name and address) I want to show to them.

Hi MikeyMike,

Speaking from someone who didn't have nearly half of what you submitted but still got approved, I would say you have more than enough evidence. You have a lot of co-mingling finances/joint ownerships. I wouldn't worry too much about the pictures. If for some reason you get a RFE, you can always submit a few pictures then.

Pictures, don't worry about it. They really don't care that much.

Joint bank account is usually something they want to see. That being said, your list is so strong by itself that I doubt you'll run into an RFE :) Looks good!

Be prepared for the eternal waiting game. Be prepared for average news.

We didn't submit bank account statements either or photographs. We basically submitted the house deed for our house that we bought together and previous years joint tax returns like you did. Didn't submit even half of the rest of the stuff that you submitted and we got approved recently. So don't worry about it :) Good luck!

Looks good to me. The only thing I would add is replacing the tax returns with transcripts as this proves that you filed taxes. You can order them from the IRS website; https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

Order them and if you get an RFE you can submit them at that time or add them to your file if you have an interview.

Good luck! :)
