Hi.

Do you think a self employed person should submit anything else besides IRS Tax transcript from recent tax year? The sponsor meets financial threshold for poverty levels using his income (no assets, bank money or spouse income).

If I correctly understand NVC instructions, IRS Transcript is the only required evidence if the income from recent tax year IRS transcript is sufficient.

The link to instruction (Obtain Financial Evidence section): http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Step_4_Collect_Financial_Documents.html

The documents I now have include:

- filled I-864 form,

- IRS Transcript from 2014 (which is most recent tax year I believe),

- photocopy of passport bio page

for prior year income, yes, a tax transcript is sufficient.

for current year income, you'll need to show proof of it.

Thanks Darnell,

Are you speaking from your own experience or do you know some other NVC instructions stating that?

I heard from another person that guidelines have changed some time ago and IRS transcript is sufficient.

Maybe there's someone in here who qualified using only the transcript..

current annual income ?

audited cpa's quarterly report of income. Figure paying 2 hours of cpa time at a cpa office for this doc.
