Re-expedite at NVC or not?

Okay VisaJourney Community,

Here is the story:

In middle December 2015, my wife submitted an expedite request for my CR1 visa with the NVC. She did this the day NVC received the case from USCIS. Two days later, she received an email from the NVC that they forwarded the request to the embassy.

As of today, we have not received any answer. Which is fine, since there is no timeframe... but speaking today with an NVC representative I was told that the embassy probably have never got the request since at that time only the USCIS case number was available and not the NVC case number. So she suggested resubmitting the request now that we have a case number.

However... I am about to send our AOS/IV package to the NVC. Based on the past few months' experience, is it worth re-requesting the expedite at this stage, knowing that even if approved, the documents will be at the NVC already, so we would not be able to bypass them? Would and approval at this stage make the process any shorter? Could it cause any complications? How fast is the NVC in the past few months? I am quite sure that we won't receive any checklists, we have extensive but still concise supporting documents and hundred-checked everything for errors.

What would be your suggestion? Any input is highly valued, thanks!

I was probably very close to a case closed at NVC when I submitted an expedite request due to our son's medical issues. It was approved very quickly and sent to the Embassy a few days ago. I've read on here, and was told by an NVC representative that you really don't lose time by submitting an expedite at NVC, they continue with normal processing unless it is approved.
