Hi

Sorry for being such a pest here...We are trying to get everything in order ahead of time..

Can someone please advise on going to the US on a K3 then applying for EAD? How does it work

if you applyfor EAD before applying for AOS? And how long to you have on a K3 before having

to apply for AOS?

Is EAD valid for a shorter time if you get it before applying for AOS? We are really confused about all this

Again sorry for all the questions..

Thank Everyone In Advance

Michelle

K3 can and should apply for EAD as soon as possible upon arrival. You cannot get SSN until you have EAD in hand. EAD is valid for 2 years for K3 holder.

You can apply for AOS anytime in the 2 years validity of your K3, but it should be submitted before it expires so that you don't have any out of status time accrued.

See my signature timeline for ours. I arrived October 2004, and just got my GC last month. EAD took about 3 months to get, and AOS took about 10 months from when we submitted.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!
