Would this help in proving to re-establish domicile?

So I've been living in Canada for the past 5 years ever since I got my permanent residency here. However, I'm still technically listed as living at my parents' address in the States. I still get all my mail sent there including my bank statements, student loan payments/statements, and up until I got rid of my US cell phone, that was being sent there too. I'm wondering if all that info coupled with the fact that my parents agreed I can put them down as the address we can live at (while paying rent of course) when we move back, getting my NC driver's license again, absentee ballot for NC, bank and credit card statements in my name from the past year or so mailed to said address, and a letter from the local community college saying I plan to enroll in courses that have been paid for, will help our case in proving to re-establish domicile? I might also buy one of my parents' cars from them which will have NC plates as my mom is looking to get rid of it and I don't feel like bringing my car from Canada to the US.

Of course, we aren't actually planning to move there when we get back, but it's the cheaper option compared to me paying rent on an apartment we may not be able to move into on time due to immigration.

for domicile prove-up on the I-864,

remember - there are two paths - PICK ONE:

1. proof of usa domicile or

2. proof of re-establishing usa domicile

currently, without a lease in your name going back a few years, or a deed to a house in your name, I suggest you take option 2, as you'll have lots of useful stuff for option 2.

In the end, this proof has to be submitted on interview day, so bear that in mind as yer working yer calendar of stuff to do.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thanks Darnell, I'm definitely going with option 2. Another question for those who have went through this already, did you find frontloading your initial application with proof of re-establishing domicile helped at the interview? I've heard Montreal can be brutal with the domicile issue and although I could technically move back to the States before my hubby, being separated is not something either of us want to go through again if we can avoid it.

ya, sorry, i read post #1 without reading the title of Would this help in proving to re-establish domicile?

and my answer is a resounding yes - with 1 caveat -

get a letter from your parents about living with them, or a real lease doc for room rental from them. either/or.

---

as to front-loading, with the I-130? I say don't do that at all - instead do it into NVC, side-loaded with the civil docs that you have to send in with the DS-260 set. The casefile will get bundled up with all of the stuff you submit into NVC, a Vice-Consul will read/review it prior to interview day.

Thanks for the advice. We're actually going to the States before we send off our application to visit my parents, so I'll make sure I get a lease signed by my parents and the both of us while I'm there along with everything else. For some reason I feel like this trip is going to keep me busy, haha.

I've read the entire stickied thread and am trying my best to get as much evidence as I can showing that I'm ready to leave Canada. But thanks for the other link, I haven't read that one yet.
